Begin your adventure with a morning pick-up from your Moshi hotel. Enjoy a comfortable 51-kilometer beautiful drive toward the Kenyan border. Along the way, see local village life and take in amazing, wide views of Mount Kilimanjaro's southern and western hills.
When you arrive at the top, begin a guided hike down the steep, green crater walls toward the lake. Walk through beautiful nature, looking out for colobus monkeys swinging in the trees, small dik-diks, and a large variety of birds.
At the water's edge, explore interesting rock formations around the beautiful blue-green lake. Please note: To protect this natural area and keep guests safe, swimming in Lake Chala is not allowed.
After finishing your walk by the water and hiking back to the top of the crater, you will relax at a beautiful camp restaurant. Enjoy a freshly made lunch while looking out over the amazing crater and green nature.
