Day 01
Moshi to Osiligilai · Lunch & Dinner
Into the Maasai Plains
Your expedition begins with a brief transfer from Moshi to Kwasadala, the official starting point of your circumnavigation. Following a comprehensive bike fitting and safety briefing, you will begin cycling along peaceful rural tracks. Navigate through vibrant banana plantations and open farmland, gradually approaching the western flank of Kilimanjaro.
Riding at a comfortable pace, you will absorb the serene countryside and spectacular views of the highest peak in Africa. The day concludes upon arrival at the premium Osiligilai Lodge, where you can relax and recount the day's journey over an excellent dinner.
Day 02
Wildlife Corridors · Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
The Enduimet Wilderness
Today features a ride through one of Northern Tanzania's most vital conservation areas: the Enduimet Wildlife Corridor. Connecting Amboseli National Park to Mount Kilimanjaro, cycling quietly through this expansive wilderness provides a rare and thrilling opportunity to observe wildlife—including giraffes, zebras, and elephants—from the saddle.
The trail continues through traditional Maasai lands before ascending slightly to historic Simba Farm. Nestled gracefully on the mountain slopes, this peaceful retreat offers panoramic sunset views over the sweeping plains below.
Day 03
Forests & Coffee · Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Traversing the Western Slopes
The journey follows beautiful mountain roads through the fertile western slopes of Kilimanjaro. You will cycle seamlessly between traditional villages and lush coffee plantations, invigorated by the crisp mountain air and ever-changing topography.
Renowned as one of the most visually spectacular legs of the expedition, the route provides magnificent, elevated viewpoints. Arrive at Snow View Cottage in the late afternoon to unwind and admire the dramatic mountain vistas.
Day 04
Crater Lakes · Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
The Turquoise Waters of Lake Chala
After breakfast, cycle toward the magnificent Lake Chala, a dramatic volcanic caldera situated directly on the Tanzania-Kenya border. The lake's striking, deep turquoise waters are surrounded by steep crater walls and lush tropical vegetation, creating a breathtaking oasis.
Enjoy ample time to relax, photograph the scenery, and explore the tranquil lakeshore. Following your visit, you will transfer by vehicle to the lush town of Marangu to rest before your final day of cultural exploration.
Day 05
Chagga Culture · Breakfast & Lunch
Marangu Heritage & Return
The final day is dedicated to uncovering the rich heritage of the Chagga people. Begin with a guided tour of the Chagga Museum and the fascinating underground caves, constructed centuries ago as strategic hideouts during tribal conflicts.
Next, visit a local farm for an immersive coffee experience, participating in the traditional roasting and brewing process. Conclude the expedition with a refreshing visit to a nearby Marangu waterfall before your comfortable transfer back to Moshi, carrying unforgettable memories of your 360° circumnavigation.
