Discover the hidden beauty of the Rau Nature Forest Reserve, a unique forest located just a short distance from Moshi town. Sitting on the lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, this green environment offers a wonderful escape where you can connect with nature.
Walk under the shade of giant trees and look out for rare black-and-white colobus monkeys jumping through the branches. You will also see colorful birds, beautiful butterflies, and the famous Mvule tree—known as the oldest and largest tree in East Africa. Finish your walk with lovely views of nearby green rice fields.
Your morning begins when we pick you up from your hotel in Moshi at 8:00 AM. After a short 30-minute drive, we will arrive at the Rau Nature Forest Reserve. Your friendly guide will welcome you and introduce you to the beautiful plants and animals found in this special area.
Take a slow, relaxing walk through the cool forest shade. You will see many different types of trees, butterflies, and monkeys. A major highlight is visiting the famous Mvule tree. Your guide will explain its history and how local people use it for traditional healing and customs.
As we walk out of the forest, you will see the beautiful sight of bright green rice fields. We will stop to enjoy a delicious local lunch before driving you safely back to your hotel in Moshi, leaving you with wonderful memories and great photos.
