Day 01 Arrival & Briefing

Arrival in Moshi

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our team will transfer you to your premium hotel in Moshi. After settling in, you will meet your lead guide for a comprehensive pre-climb briefing. We will conduct a thorough gear check, review safety procedures, and ensure you are fully prepared for the journey ahead.

Day 02 6 km Trek · +550m Elevation

Lemosho Gate (2,100m) to Mti Mkubwa (2,650m)

Following breakfast, a scenic drive brings us to the Lemosho Gate. After registration, your trek begins through thick, unspoiled rainforest. The air is cool and fresh, and the pace is gentle. This vibrant zone is rich in wildlife, offering chances to spot colobus monkeys before arriving at the peaceful Big Tree Camp for your first mountain overnight.

Day 03 8 km Trek · +850m Elevation

Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp (3,500m)

The trail climbs steadily, transitioning from dense rainforest into the open heath and moorland zone, dominated by giant heather. As the forest canopy drops behind you, the landscape opens up to reveal dramatic, sweeping views. We arrive at Shira 1 Camp, set on the edge of the ancient volcanic Shira Plateau, by the afternoon.

Day 04 14 km Trek · +700m Elevation

Shira Plateau to Moir Hut (4,200m)

Today features a gradual trek across the Shira Plateau with panoramic views of Kibo Peak. Turning north, we leave the crowds behind and join the quiet Northern Circuit. We utilize a "climb high, sleep low" strategy, optionally hiking toward the Lent Hills before descending slightly to the isolated and scenic Moir Hut.

Day 05 12 km Trek · -180m Elevation

Moir Hut to Buffalo Camp (4,020m)

Entering the stark, beautiful alpine desert, the route circles the northern slopes of Kilimanjaro. This undulating terrain offers expansive views across the plains toward Kenya. The gentle ascents and descents continue to aid your acclimatization as you arrive at the calm, open setting of Buffalo Camp.

Day 06 8 km Trek · -150m Elevation

Buffalo Camp to Third Cave (3,870m)

A shorter, relaxed day continues our traverse beneath the massive northern slopes of Kibo. This gradual terrain allows your body vital recovery time while maintaining valuable altitude exposure. We reach Third Cave Camp by early afternoon to rest and hydrate.

Day 07 10 km Trek · +930m Elevation

Third Cave to School Hut (4,800m)

The trail climbs steadily into the lunar landscape of the upper alpine desert toward School Hut, our final basecamp. With thinning air and cooler temperatures, you will arrive in the early afternoon. Following an early dinner and a thorough summit briefing, you will rest ahead of the midnight ascent.

Day 08 18 km Trek · The Summit Push (5,895m)

Uhuru Peak & Descent to Mweka (3,100m)

The summit push begins shortly after midnight under a canopy of stars. It is a demanding ascent, but your determination is rewarded at sunrise as you stand upon Uhuru Peak—the highest point in Africa. After celebrating, you begin the long descent back past basecamp, continuing down into the richer oxygen of the rainforest at Mweka Camp.

Day 09 9 km Descent & Departure

Mweka Gate (1,680m) & Departure

The final morning is a gentle, triumphant walk down through the lush tropical rainforest. At Mweka Gate, you will collect your official summit certificate and celebrate with your dedicated mountain crew. We will transfer you back to Moshi for a well-earned shower, before arranging your final airport transfer for your onward journey.
